Maleficent - Since this film is loosely based on Sleeping Beauty, I expected it to be the same or even darker and I think it goes the same way to the rest of the people. The film seriously surprised me as it was not as what I expected.
The story have been totally modified and penned in a unique way in order to surprise us. The story is good enough to delight and please the adults and also the kids with a brilliant take on the one of the beloved tale with a delightful twist including the meaning of true love. I do have to agree that this film is very slow paced paced but trust me you're about to have a great visual treat. The settings in terms of visuals and CGI are really stunning & spellbinding. The characters are really sympathetic and there is enough of excitement.
Angelina Jolie was a perfect choice which being made for the character as her face seems to be the same just like in the cartoon version. Her performance was brilliant and she amazed me all the way. The character Maleficent genuinely comes to life in full form by Angelina's stunning skills and presence. Elle Fanning as the character of Aurora have nothing much to offer. She played her part well and so do the rest of the cast. The background score by James Newton Howard was symphonic and scintillating and it makes another huge strength of this film. Thanks to director Robert Stromberg for bringing the all time favourite fairy tale which comes to life in a unique and different way.
To make it simple, Maleficent is magnificent.
