Basically, the story is loosely based on true events of the failed Operation Red Wings mission in 2005 in which 18 members of the US Armed Forces were killed in action. So, the script was really good. Its not easy to direct an army film but director Peter Berg has nailed it & proved that he is one of the versatile director. With the great cast such as Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Ludwig & etc the movie was much more powerful with their energetic performance.
The sound mixing & sound editing was seriously freaking good. No doubt they've have been nominated under this 2 category for the Oscars. Right from the sound of gunshots, explosions & etc will definitely give you a good feel. I mean you will have a new kind of feel towards the sound effects. You won't feel bored throughout the film but there are a lot of blood spills & gory scenes.
Overall, a power-packed, emotional, patriotic army flick not to be missed. One of the most brutal & realistic combat pictures ever made in recent memory.
